GCSE Media Key Concepts

Language
We know it is a Science-Fiction poster because the Title, the release date and the tag-line shows how that Earth has been destroyed for a very long time. also the font shows how the world has become destroyed and it is now a wasteland, which shows the science-fictional genre of the film.

Institution
The movie was made by RatPac-Dune Entertainment as they are owned by Warner Brothers who are known for amazing films like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which are both post-apocalyptic science fiction films. The movie was directed by George Miller and produced by Doug Mitchell

Audience

The target audience is mostly targeted at older male teenagers that are very fond of post-apocalyptic adventure. Also this film can be targeted towards older males as well because this film is a remake of another Mad Max that was made in 1979 with Mel Gibson and it was favoured by many teenagers back in the day and they would love to watch a remake that came out recently due to new ages of technology. Also the movie contains a lot of fighting and action that many teens and young adults would enjoy.

Representation
The focal picture shows a man looking into the distance where it shows many bad guys coming to kill him so he's on the run to get away from them in his cool muscle car. This shows that the movie can be targeted to petrol-heads and for people who loves action. Also there are no women in this poster so women may look away from a film like this as there are no women.
